With nine nominees and plenty of speculation, it’s no surprise that 2012 Oscar buzz is dominated by Best Picture conversation. According to NM Incite, the Best Picture category accounts for nearly half of discussion among the seven major awards categories. Best Actor and Best Actress in a Leading Role drive the second- and third-most amount of discussion with 19 and 13 percent, respectively. Meanwhile, Best Animated Feature Film ranks last in the group with only 3 percent.

Within the Best Picture category, the most buzzed about nominee was the Artist, earning almost a quarter of all buzz compared to all films nominated. Hugo followed closely behind, generating 20 percent of discussion among Best Picture nominees.
